Genesis 1:1 is not included in London, British Library, Harley MS 5706.
This manuscript includes: A pointed and accented Ashkenazic codex containing Exodus 6:23–40:38, Leviticus, Numbers with a lacuna from 4:23 through 8:20, Deuteronomy, Esther, Song of Songs, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, and a cycle of haftarot for weekly readings, the four special Sabbaths, the Ninth of Av, and festivals. Genesis and Exodus 1:1–6:22 are absent with the defective beginning; the manuscript is also defective at the end. Fol. 165v preserves biblical examples illustrating accentuation, and numerous margins supply omitted biblical passages. The Passover and Pentecost haftarot near the end are copied with pointed and accented Targum. Every accepted main-text, haftarah, repeated, exemplary, and marginal biblical occurrence is indexed independently after full-surface Kraken review; covers, boards, and flyleaves remain in true physical navigation without invented biblical assignments..
